Last Updated: January 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Typer. collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the website and writing application (the “Service”).

1. Information Typer. Collects

1.1 Account & Profile Information

When you create an account, Typer. collects information such as your email address and (if provided) your name and profile image. The Service also stores authentication and security information needed to keep your account secure (for example, password hashes and session identifiers).

1.2 Content You Provide

The Service is built for writing. Typer. collects and stores the content you create or upload in the Service, such as document titles, document text, and organizational metadata (for example, groups/folders).

Tip: Avoid submitting sensitive personal information in documents or AI features (for example, health data, government IDs, or financial account numbers) unless you truly need to.

1.3 Usage, Device, and Log Information

The Service may collect technical information about how you access it, such as pages viewed, timestamps, browser type, device identifiers, and IP address (for example, for security and fraud prevention).

1.4 Cookies and Similar Technologies

Typer. uses cookies and similar technologies for necessary functionality (such as keeping you signed in) and, if you consent, for analytics to help understand usage and improve the Service.

2. How Typer. Uses Information

Typer. uses information it collects to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (including storing and syncing your documents).
  • Authenticate users, manage sessions, and keep the Service secure.
  • Enable features you choose to use (including AI-powered grammar checking and rewriting).
  • Process subscriptions and provide customer support.
  • Monitor and analyze trends and usage (when analytics cookies are enabled).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce the Terms of Service.

3. AI Features and Third-Party Processing

If you use AI features (such as grammar checking or rewriting), the text you submit may be transmitted to and processed by third-party AI providers (currently, OpenAI) to generate results. This processing is used only to provide the AI features you request.

Important: AI outputs can be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before using or relying on them.

4. How Information Is Shared

Typer. may share information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: The Service uses third-party vendors to host and operate the Service, send emails (Resend), provide analytics (e.g., Google Analytics and Mixpanel when enabled), and process payments/subscriptions (Polar). These providers process information on Typer.’s behalf under contractual obligations.
  • Legal and safety: If required by law, or if disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, and security, investigate fraud, or respond to lawful requests.
  • Business transfers: If Typer. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Typer. does not sell your personal information.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Your Choices

You can control analytics cookies via the cookie banner and cookie settings. If you disable analytics, the Service will not initialize analytics tools that rely on analytics consent.

Note: Necessary cookies (or equivalent storage) may still be used to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in).

6. Data Retention

Typer. retains personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes, such as complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. You may delete certain content within the Service; some information may remain in backups for a limited period.
